In the early morning hours on Saturday February 2nd, the Swift Water Rescue Team members from BVAR participated in Ice Rescue Training at Whittier Lake, as part of their ongoing dedication to providing the best service that they can to the surrounding Brunswick Community. Members playing the part of the vicitm were chest-deep in a small area of water surrounded by ice and snow in the frozen lake while, other members were on top of the ice practicing techniques used to safely rescue them to land.
The full story of their training experience can be found on the Frederick New Post's website at https://www.fredericknewspost.com/places/local/frederick_county/we-have-to-make-sure-that-the-rescuers-are-safe/article_641d629a-fb4e-543d-9a1a-6b7fa2047732.html
