Congratulations to Judge Eric Schaffer!
Fri. Sep 21st 2018

Congratulations to long time BVARC member, Mr. Eric Schaffer, on being appointed to be the next judge of the county’s District Court by Govenor Larry Hogan on Thursday.  Mr. Schaffer serves many roles in the ambulance company including EMT, swift water rescue technician, and as a rescue technician.  He also sits on the company's board of directors as the vice president of the company.

Mr. Schaffer was among seven local lawyers who applied for the govenor's appointment to the judgeship, and after being narrowed down to just three candidates, Eric was the standout.  He has worked as both a prosecutor and a public defender, before spending the last 19 years in the private practice firm that he co-founded.

Eric told the Frederick News Post that "I’m looking forward to serving the community in a different way," and that he expects the transition from private practice to judge to be interesting.

Congratulations Eric!  We look forward to the many amazing things that this next phase of your career will bring to you.
